Homework
Children will be set homework weekly. It will usually be maths or a literacy based task that will enable pupils to practice a skill we are learning in school. Homework should be completed in homework books unless otherwise stated. Please encourage your child to look after this book and take responsibility for it.
Reading
Reading at home will continue to be a vital part of your support for your child in school. We will send a new reading book home each week, along with word cards to practice. Children will need to learn to read and write these words. Children in Year One also get a Monkey Reading Record book, they love these books and you will find a list of words at the beginning of the book too. When you read with your child we would appreciate you putting a note in the diary to let us know how they got along with their book.
