Language, literacy and communication are very important skills and we are lucky in Gladstone that we have many different languages.
English is the main language we learn and we look at reading, writing, speaking and listening. We encourage the children to talk in English as much as possible to improve their language skills. There are many different games and activities that they can use and play to help to embed and improve these skills. Some are listed below.
We also use Welsh as much as possible in the school day and a Helpwr Heddiw is chosen each day in class. They have a special role within the class to encourage incidental Welsh and lead Welsh games.
We will be selecting and covering a range of topics throughout the year in Welsh and applying them to our other lessons as much as we can.
