Our Summer overarching AOLE has a Science & Technology focus, with our transdisciplinary theme being 'Journeys.'
For the first part of the Summer term, we will be asking the question, "Is there Life on Mars?"
What do you think?
Activities will be based on a STEM cluster project in collaboration with Techniquest. The children will be looking at the journeys made into space since the start of the space race, and how technology has progressed over time, allowing us to look even further into deepest, darkest space!
It aims to be a fun and engaging theme, challenging the children to think about life essentials, life on this planet and beyond, and create their own planets and life-forms for them. The class will also have the opportunity to practice their DT skills, building a space buggy from materials in school.
Who knows, we may have the next Tim Peake sitting in the Y5 classroom!
