Literacy

LO – use adjectives to describe yourself.

We started using adjectives when we were describing the fruit in Handa’s Surprise (just like juicy orange) but it is sometimes a bit more difficult to describe what a person is like. I want you to describe yourself. What makes you special?

Join in with this fun video and listen and learn all about adjectives (and adverbs)!

I am special because…

*I can choose words to describe myself.

**I can write ‘I am…’ sentences to describe myself.

***I can explain what makes me special.

Maths

LO - Make a sensible estimate before counting to check.

Can you estimate how many octopus' there are? Can you estimate how many tentacles there are? Can you estimate how many silver scales the Rainbow Fish has? Remember to make a sensible estimate and then count carefully to check.

* I can make an estimate and count up to 10 objects.

** I can make an estimate and count up to 20 objects.

*** I can make an estimate and count up to 50 objects.

Topic

LO – say why some things are special.

The Rainbow Fish gives away his most prized possessions. What are your most prized possessions? Why are they important to you?

*I can take a photo of my most prized possession.

**I can say why something is so important to me.

You could even make a treasure chest to put all your special things inside!

Optional - make a treasure chest to put your special things in!
