Class 2

Welcome to Year Two!

Spring Newsletter 2019


Year 2 class assembly will now be performed on Thursday 28th March at 9:15.


The class have discussed what they would like to learn about this half term.  We had a class vote and our new topic is called 'Famous for more than Five Minutes.'  We will be learning about famous people that have made significant contributions nationally and internationally.  The class will be researching famous artists, musicians, astronauts, explorers and much more!


Kerb Craft

Kerb Craft is beginning on Tuesday 5th February.  Children need to be wearing suitable shoes and have a waterproof coat.  Please ensure that your child is on time for school as these sessions will start at 9am.

We are still looking for volunteers to support the children during these sessions.  If your are able to help, please let the school know.



All children are provided with milk for their morning snack.  Please can you label your child's snack pot and cut grapes in half.

Guided Reading sessions are at the start of the day so its important that children are on time every morning.

Children will have different reading experiences throughout the week in guided reading sessions.

Children must bring their book bag to school every day. Your child will change their reading book at least once a week.



Pupils need to develop quick recall of their Learn Its to help them with the weekly timed tests.

PE is every Monday and Friday.

PE kits stay in school and will be sent home at the end of every half term.

Please ensure all children bring in suitable clothing and appropriate footwear, i.e. trainers, for indoor and outdoor PE and Games activities. This may include T-shirts, shorts, leggings, jogging bottoms and a warm top. Long hair needs to be tied back and all jewellery must be removed.
